Cultural Tastes Impacted by Technology?

The article "Has technology changed cultural taste?", written by Serena Kutchinsky, is primarily focused on the revolutionized cultural taste - how much technology has impacted said taste is in question throughout. Kutchinsky argues that the majority of what we enjoy today is made possible by technology. For example, had Justin Beiber not been able to create YouTube videos would our nation still be a belieber? I personally enjoyed this read because it is easily forgotten how we acquire our tastes, and this article put into perspective just how much can be attributed to technological advances. Another example the author used, was our generations lack of interest in newsPAPER. Getting news online is both easier and more interactive - not to mention better for the environment. Surprisingly the author even discussed the negative effects technology has had on our culture as well. Overall, this article acted as a reminder of just how lucky our culture is to have come as far as we have in technology.
