The video "Does Technology Ruin Relationships?", uploaded by Braincraft, is revolved around technology’s impact on our relationships. I think
this video is important because as technology has more prevalence in our
culture it can have negative and positive influences. The video debates rather
technology helps us feel loved or distracts us from real connections. According
to this video technology can have a positive impact on people with attachment anxiety,
they are able to seek more attention and affection from their partner with
tools such as: Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, Facetime, and texting. Also,
because of pictures, texts, and other memories we are able to see proof at any
time that we are loved. I think that these points are important to our culture
because feeling loved helps mental stability and can overall form a healthier
population. However, on the other side of the argument – couples who use Facebook
often are more likely to feel jealousy. I agree with this argument because
often times I see relationships blow up on Facebook, because someone liked someone’s
photo. I particularly enjoyed the comment “more bacon would lead us to more
bacon related problems, excessive game of thrones consumption would lead to
more game of thrones problems”. In other words: over consumption of anything
can lead to problems. Technology doesn’t ruin relationships, but people who misuse
technology can.
