How Much Time Do You Think You Spend on Media Sites or in Front of a Screen?
Teens Spend a 'mind-boggling' 9 Hours a Day Using Media , an article from CNN said "That's more time [9 hours] than teens typically spend sleeping, and more time than they spend with their parents and teachers.". I can't believe this is true and that I'm probably one of those teens who fall guilty too it. This research isn't just about Instagram or twitter, its about video games, tv, and listening to music. This Steyer states "the reshaping of our media tech landscape is first and foremost affecting young people's lives and reshaping childhood and adolescence" and that this should be a wake up call to all parents, educators, policy maker, business person and especially to the tech people creating every device. This article is a big eye opener because it even points out it that technology has gender differences, equality gaps and points out how children multi-tasking while doing homework (trying to watch tv and do homework at the same time etc.) can hurt there learning skills. I defiantly think we are in the middle of a powerful movment with technology.
